Interview with Jonathan Altamira, Logistics Lead, South Central Region
Jonathan was recently recognized as TireHub South Central Region’s Hubber of the Quarter for the outstanding work he does supporting our Arlington logistics center. His continual demonstration of being approachable, relentless, adventurous and speedy make him a center and customer favorite.
In his interview, Jonathan reflects on customer interactions and his greatest TireHub success. Read below for Jonathan’s experiences with TireHub.
Give us a little info about yourself.
My name is Jonathan Altamira, and I’m the Logistics Lead at our Arlington, Tx, center. My day consists of maintaining a safe work environment, assisting with the planning of deliveries and daily work schedule within the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, along with inventory control.
How long have you been a Hubber?
I’ve been with TireHub since we opened our doors in July 2018.
How long have you been in the tire industry?
I have been in the tire industry for almost five years. I saw an opportunity to do something different, and I was looking for a change. I started my career with Goodyear in September 2016, then transitioned to TireHub in July 2018.
How would you describe life as a Hubber?
Life as a Hubber is exciting and challenging. There is always something different going on.
What’s something you wish people knew about tires / the industry / etc.?
How tires are handled. It amazes me how many times a tire is touched before it actually gets installed on a customer’s vehicle.
What’s your favorite customer interaction?
No specific favorite; I enjoy doing Will Calls because I get a chance to briefly talk with our customers.
How is TireHub different?
TireHub is focused on not just taking care of their customers, but they also take great care of their employees.
Describe your approach to providing exceptional customer service.
I always treat others as to how I would want to be treated.
What would you deem your greatest success since starting with TireHub?
We successfully moved from our old location in Dallas, TX, to our new location in Arlington, TX, during COVID-19 in April 2020. Due to the restrictions in place, we had no assistance from other TireHub employees to move thousands of tires between the two locations. When our team completed this task, I felt a great sense of accomplishment.
