Please share a little info about yourself.
My name is Amanda Myers and I’m TireHub’s Human Resources Manager. I am based out of Atlanta and am dedicated full time to TireHub’s staffing efforts for both hourly and salary positions. My main goal is to think of out of the box recruiting strategies to attract talent to TireHub and ensure we are fully staffed with top talent. Recently, I launched a large partnership with RecruitMilitary in an effort to help military members and their spouses transition out of active duty into the work force. I’m excited to see the talent it will bring us.
How long have you been a Hubber?
I have been a Hubber since March of 2020 – my first day was actually the first day everyone at the Hub (TireHub corporate office) starting working from home. We thought we would only be doing it for 2 weeks!
How long have you been in the tire industry?
My tire industry adventure started when I joined TireHub. Prior to TireHub, I worked in produce distribution and processing.
How would you describe life as a Hubber?
Crazy, exciting, fast, and meaningful. For the first time in my professional life, TireHub has given me the opportunity to truly create meaningful experiences for both our organization and Hubbers. Though the journey hasn’t been traditional, it has been thrilling and full of new experiences, responsibilities, and learning curves that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
How did you get into this field?
I just seemed to fall into HR. I started my journey with an internship doing recruiting for a large Engineering and IT staffing organization. I fell in love with the ability to find that kind of talent. After my internship, I went to work for a produce company that hired me in as a SR. Recruiter. As the company developed, the role did too, and I trained and added additional HR Business Partner responsibilities.
How is TireHub different?
TireHub is unlike any other company I have worked for and it took me many months to understand this. When we approach a situation with our Hubbers, it’s always about doing the right thing, and not being a sucky company. We have a different way to process things and we truly have the best interest of our Hubbers at heart. It is not just a saying on the wall, it is an action that is proven every day.
What would you deem your greatest success since starting with TireHub?
When I started during the COVID pandemic, no one knew what was in front of us. Being able to plan, create, and implement a plan to keep our Hubbers in the field and in the Hub safe has been my greatest success thus far.
